Privacy Policy

Our approach to privacy

Talon is designed with privacy as a foundational principle, not an afterthought. Your messages are personal. We believe you should have complete control over who and what can access them.

What data Talon processes

Talon processes the messages and emails you explicitly opt in to share with the AI engine. This includes message content, sender information, timestamps, and attachments from your selected chats and email labels.

All processing happens locally on your Mac. Your messages are never sent to our servers because we don't have servers that receive your data.

Where your data is stored

All data is stored locally on your Mac in an encrypted SQLite database. Encryption keys are stored in macOS Keychain. We do not operate cloud storage, sync services, or backup servers for your message data.

AI provider data sharing

When you use a cloud-based AI provider (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google), the content of opted-in messages is sent to that provider's API for processing. This is necessary for the AI to generate summaries, draft replies, and classify messages.

Each AI provider has their own privacy policy and data handling practices:

If you use Ollama (local AI), no message data leaves your Mac at all.

What we collect from this website

This website (gettalon.co) does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, or any third-party scripts. We do not collect personal information through this website.

If you provide your email address to be notified about Talon's launch, we store only your email address for the sole purpose of sending you a launch notification. You can request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@gettalon.co.

What we do not do

• We do not collect, store, or transmit your messages to our servers.
• We do not use analytics or telemetry in the Talon app.
• We do not sell, share, or monetize your data in any way.
• We do not track your usage patterns or behavior.
• We do not use your data to train AI models.

Your controls

• Opt-in only: AI only processes chats and email labels you explicitly enable.
• Revoke anytime: Disable AI for any chat or label at any time in Settings.
• Delete everything: Uninstalling Talon removes all local data.
• Choose your AI: Select which AI provider processes your data, or use local AI for zero external sharing.

Third-party services

Talon connects to third-party services on your behalf using credentials you provide:

• Gmail — via Google OAuth and the Gmail API
• Outlook — via Microsoft OAuth and the Graph API
• WhatsApp — via local WhatsApp Web bridge

Your credentials (OAuth tokens and API keys) are stored in macOS Keychain and never leave your device.

Children's privacy

Talon is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly process data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
